Criteria:

Interest: determined by your aptitudes, talents and drives

  • Ask parents, teachers or friends what you do so naturally that you don't even seem to think about it first

  • What did you used to dream about doing when you were very young?


Location: a function of what you want and what is practical

Big clues to this will come from the Where am I going? part of Crystal-Barkley's Life\Work Design process

  • Have you always wished you could be near the ocean? Mountains? In a foreign country? Near fields of rolling wheat? 

  • Would you prefer to remain (live with) family? In current job?


Reputation: is more important in highly specialized fields, but this is more than being well known and highly praised; you will want to feel comfortable with the teaching approach and the other students.
