History and Leadership

The Life\Work Design process is an outgrowth of John Crystal's own life and work and his partnering in the early 1980’s with Nella Barkley.  Her vision and passion enables people and the organizations that they serve to discover and utilize the full range of their potential.

 The process:

• In the simplest manner, is described as orchestrated common sense 

• Enables individuals of all ages and all manner of organizations to recognize and make maximum satisfying use of their unique human resources

Through the process:

• Individuals derive an accurate view of themselves and generate powerful personal strategic plans leading them to accomplish specific, relevant objectives for themselves and their organizations

• Organizations gain the renewed commitment of workers whose energies are freely directed toward shared goals resulting in a different and highly beneficial way of thinking about human resource issues.

The Crystal-Barkley Corporation offers regular programs in New York for individuals there and in Atlanta, Chicago and Los Angeles as well as in the United Kingdom. Organizationally sponsored programs are run at any location by special contract. The process is also accessible through two books authored by Nella Barkley: How To Help Your Child Land The Right Job (without being a pain in the neck) and The Crystal-Barkley Guide To Taking Charge Of Your Career.
